Install Android 4.4.2 on your Samsung Galaxy KitKat Note 10.1 – Android Help

Although not yet officially available, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be updated Android 4.4.2 KitKat as we have known thanks to the guys at XDA Developers, specifically the user izap. If you have this tablet and you are willing to upgrade (Samsung left it a bit since 4.1.2 Android Jelly Bean), here we show all the steps.

Practically all owners of a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) were beginning to think that Samsung never again would update your device. However, the day has finally arrived thanks to a member of XDA forum is now available for download the updated firmware for this tablet. Officially, Samsung hopes to bring Android 4.4.2 to Galaxy Note 10.1 KitKat in the months of May or June , but if you can not wait, here’s the list of steps to start enjoying it. As always, we are not responsible for any brick or device failure, knowing that this version is not yet a build official.

  • Remove the firmware file
  • Odin3 v3.09

  • download (from here or here)
  • Extract the file Odin.zip
  • Reset tablet

  • download mode (press and hold the power buttons and volume down)
  • Connect the tablet and wait until you see the blue sign in Odin
  • Add AP_N8000XXUDND5.tar.md5 AP
  • BL_N8000XXUDND5.tar.md5

  • Add to BL
  • Add MODEM_N8000XXUDND2.tar . md5 CP
  • Add CSC_OXA_N8000OXADND5.tar.md5 CSC
  • Make sure the option to re-partition is not marked
  • Click on start and wait several minutes
  • In case you find several problems with the firmware, like the dreaded bootloop :
  • Start mode recovery (press and hold the home key, power and volume up)
  • Select the option to restore to factory settings (wipe / factory reset), which will remove all data from the device.
  • Restart … and go!
