Comparison
MADRID, 3 Nov. (Portaltic) –
Google just started pre-sale of its United States’ phablet ‘Nexus 6. With this device to officially go on the market, is a good time to take a look at the other two’ phablets’ top two manufacturers of the market, the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple and the Galaxy Note 4 Samsung, and check what features and functions include on each other.
The first of the three to hit the market has been the iPhone 6 Plus, the first ‘phablet’ Apple; Samsung launched its Galaxy Note 4, a step in the Note series for the first time with a metallic finish. The first shipments of the Google Nexus 6 are scheduled for November 12. However, and unlike his two main rivals, the reception in the social networks ‘phablet’ of Google has not been as warm and effusive, but that has not stopped it runs in their first hours available.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The next device Google, Nexus 6, weighs 184 grams and has dimensions of 159.3 x 83 x 10.1 mm. The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy note 4 are 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs 176 grams. For its part, Apple iPhone 6 Plus measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm and weighs 172 grams.
Thus, although the new Nexus and iPhone 6th largest not known for being overly heavy, it does quite a difference in size was observed. The Samsung device, perhaps because the South Korean experience in this field, with four versions of the Note and is by far the most stylish and with its new metal frame, is also more attractive than before.
OPERATING SYSTEM
The device Apple iPhone 6 Plus works with own mobile operating system company in its latest version, iOS 8 released just days before the terminal. The first failure and the need for different almost inmedatas acualizaciones showed distrust to correct some users of the products of the company. However, overcome the shocks, the fact is that iOS has gained in flexibility and can now be shared between applications much more content, though not yet the case with all. Moreover, many applications have not yet optimized the interface to take advantage of the big screen Plus. iOS is always a guarantee of performance, but it points to improve.
For their part, Note 4 and Nexus 6 feature Google’s operating system, Android. However, Samsung phablet latest version now incorporates disposible, 4.4 KitKat, waiting to adapt Android 5.0. The layer of ‘software’ added by Samsung is not the best of the manufacturer, either in performance or user experience. Although the Android experience is not óptioma, the Note offers a few interesting options, like its already polished multi or extra options offered by the S Pen, you get to make up a bit.
Lollipop itself is present in the Nexus 6 and will also be an unmodified version, as always with the “Google experience” device. The new operating system interface and performance, hopefully, will make it a great option with few drawbacks.
BANK
The ‘phablet’ Apple has an integrated lithium-ion battery that allows a range of up to 24 hours talk time battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a 3,220 mAh battery with a battery life of up to 20 hours talk time incorporating a rapid charging system. On paper they are similar, but in normal use, leaving aside the conversations and use more applications and the Internet, which is more usual, the Note 4 wins in performance to the iPhone 6 Plus, it lasts a few hours earlier.
Meanwhile, the Nexus 6 has a size identical battery Note 4 3220 mAh, and Google has a battery that promises 24 hours of talk time. Performance should be pretty optimized, but will have to see if Motorola has managed to squeeze. Moreover, the Note 4 has a fast charge mode that can recharge up to 50 percent of battery in just 30 minutes, which is a great advantage.
SCREEN
IPhone 6 Plus features a Retina HD display of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The dispostivo Samsung has a Super AMOLED HD Quad 5.7 inch screen with a resolution of 2.560×1.440 pixels. The new handset from Google, Nexus 6, will have a 5.96-inch AMOLED screen, a size that has not liked in social networks with the same resolution as the Samsung device. As we see, the Apple phone has been somewhat behind in this regard and Note 4 to have a somewhat smaller screen, it gains in density of dots per inch.
PROCESSOR
The ‘phablet’ on Google will be released with a Snapdragon 2.7 Ghz processor 805, the same as the Galaxy Note 4. The difference in this respect the trademark iPhone 6 Plus, incorporating Apple’s own processor, A8 chip with a 64-bit architecture that is complemented by a motion processor M8, for increased performance and energy efficiency. In terms of rendmiento and utilization of capacity, we are confident that the iPhone 6 Plus will be hard to beat in this generation.
MEMORY
Galaxy Note 4 features 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory, expandable to 128 GB with a microSD card. The Nexus 6, meanwhile, has 3 GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal memory, but does not allow its extension with an external card. iPhone 6 Plus has appeared on the market in three capacities, 16GB, 64GB and 128GB of internal memory, though only 1GB of RAM, according to the benchmarks. Although on paper the RAM of Android devices is greater, resource management makes iOS 6 Plus goes like a bullet, and also has the advantage of offering more choices of internal storage.
CAMS
The iPhone camera 6 Plus is one of the strengths of Apple terminal and is currently the best of a mobile terminal. The main, rear, is an iSight camera 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, iris aperture of f2 / 2, optical image stabilization and face detection improves. Allows panorama pictures in burst mode and approach features touch. Also, allows timelapse and slow-motion video up to 240fps. The front camera, meanwhile, is 1.2 megapixels with aperture of f / 2.2, sensor lighting and mejroada rea designed for face detection ‘sefies’.
Galaxy Note 4 features a 16 megapixel rear camera with flash, autofocus and optical image stabilizer, and although not up to the Apple device, yes we have seen a significant improvement with respect to Note 3 and Galaxy S5, with further reduction in noise and less vibration. The 3.7-megapixel front camera captures light much better and allows ‘selfies’ scenic. As regards the Nexus 6, the terminal has a 13 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel front, it remains to be seen how well it works when it reaches the market.
PRICE
The Google Nexus 6 has been criticized for its size but also for its price: 649 euros. Apple has launched its iPhone 6 Spanish Market Plus a free price ranging between 799 euros and 999 euros depending on the capacity. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note costs 749 euros.
