6 Plus vs. iPhone Samsung Galaxy Note 3: aesthetics and design – CNET Spanish

Much has been said of unconditional love Samsung has the plastic – even though the company has not admitted this affection. While the iPhone was launched 5C with an air of “I’m plastic, so what?” According Jony Ive, the Apple vice president of design, Samsung has stuck to its design, creating new and better versions in which the design of their devices are adjusted without betraying its polycarbonate construction.

That all changed with the Galaxy Alpha course. But right now this phone seems to be part of an experiment. And, while the Galaxy Note 4 da another step towards a more luxurious design, it is not much higher than the phone I’ve been using daily for about six months: the Galaxy Note 3

Compared to my previous phone, the Note 2, the Note 3 was a revelation. Plastic Chrome edges give a luxurious look, especially for something that is made of a bit pretentious material. To improve the back, Samsung included small dimples on a patterned faux leather.

But these materials are not convincing imitation and tend to be a little cheap. However, for some reason, I like it. The texture and material feel really good in the hand. And the stitches on the back and the phone’s shape allows you to hold the phone securely in the hand, rounded forms may be more comfortable, but also make the device easier out of your hands.

This is completely the opposite of the iPhone 6 Plus. The overall dimensions are almost the same – a bit lighter and high – but they are almost imperceptible. The thinness is the most prominent feature, since the iPhone is thinner 2.5mm – a difference that is noticeable even more thanks to the curved corners. If you hold one Note 3 in one hand, the device feels sleek. But if you hold the iPhone 6 Plus in the other, your perception will change.

In addition, the tabléfono Apple seems to be heavier than the Note 3 even though both have the same weight. Only 4 grams differentiate these devices (iPhone 172 grams and 168 grams of Note 3), but the difference appears to be greater. It may be due to the higher density of the iPhone that my perceptions a bit confused.

And, of course, are the details. The discrete volume buttons on the iPhone are more pleasant to touch than the solitary slab in the Note. In addition, the tactile quality of the mute switch and lock the iPhone, located above the volume buttons, not on Samsung. The tactile quality is better to press the buttons of the iPhone that gives a click and rapid response, while the Note buttons are softer and do not feel so well. That said, almost never hear of someone dealing with a damaged ignition switch on a Note, Galaxy S, and I know many who have experienced problems with the power button on older model iPhones. I hope the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus more reliable in this respect.

6 Plus connect to a power outlet is also a more pleasant experience. The Lightning cable has the advantage of operating in either direction, is thinner and can more easily roll up – making it easy to pack. That said, the widest cable Note 3 results in a faster USB 3.0 data transfer – if your desktop or laptop equipped for it

There is also the position of the headset.. The Note has a 3.5mm jack on the top, while the iPhone has it on the bottom. This comes down to personal preference, but in general, I prefer the button at the bottom. This will prevent someone puyes plug the headset when you’re on a crowded train or camnión. And when you’re charging the phone while listening to music, all cables are connected on one side.

But the iPhone is devoid of certain things. I’ve talked about my love for the stylus of Note 3 in the first installment of this series. Another thing that the iPhone lacks is the LED notification. This is something that I never think when I consider which phone to buy, but I miss when I use a phone that does not have

Y is the largest component of the phone. Battery. Note Battery 3 can remove, and can even add a new one. The removable battery is a dying breed in modern designs smartphones . Its use has declined because of the need to make each fraction and millimeter to fill each cavity of the device.

The battery of Note 3 is wonderful, but I’ve lost count of the times in which missing several hours to finish a long day of work turned to the salvation of a second battery. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus has a battery life seems even more promising, but not have another spare battery makes me nervous to rely on it as a working tool.

And this is one of many reasons why I hesitate between these two devices.
