In a full-page ad published Monday in the leading newspapers of the united States, the giant technology, Samsung has offered an apology for the smartphone Galaxy Note 7, that was equipped with a defective battery that caused the explosion of an unprecedented number of devices. In September of this year, Samsung issued a full withdrawal of the device and is now pledging to fully investigate the phone.

“An important principle of our mission is to provide best-in-class in terms of safety and quality. Recently, we fail to fulfill this promise. By this, really sorry”, says the announcement. “A thorough investigation is underway and the findings will be shared when the process is complete … conduct a review of all aspects of the device, including all hardware, software, manufacturing and the overall structure of the battery. We will move as quickly as possible, but we will take the time necessary to get the right answers”.

The move is similar to the full-page ads for Volkswagen in November of 2015 to apologize for the scandal of emissions, in which the company admitted to having deceived the regulators all over the world. Like Volkswagen, the announcements from Samsung seem to be appearing only in american publications.

Samsung has not immediately responded to a request from CNET for comment. You can see the full announcement at this link.
