At this time, Samsung is considering to dispose of 4.3 million phones Galaxy Note 7 new as a follow-up to the 100 cases of explosions of battery all over the world. This is the equivalent of 730,000 kg of high end technology! While Samsung has taken the right decision to pull their smartphones from the market to avoid more accidents and injuries, the question is what they plan to do with this great mountain of phones.
Greenpeace is calling on the leader of the technology that see an opportunity in this crisis and show his leadership. Samsung should act transparently to make sure that these gadgets do not end up in the trash, and instead are separated so that their materials will be reused.
what is it that we know?
- Samsung produced 4.3 million phones Galaxy Note 7 and sold 1.8 million in 10 countries, including South Korea, the united States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, united Arab Emirates and China.
-
The company is collecting all of the appliances out of the hands of the consumers, stores and other buyers around the world.
-
Samsung announced that the company disposed of all Galaxy Note collected and not the repair, or resell.
-
These phones contain rare and precious resources such as gold, cobalt and tungsten and could be recovered instead of being discarded.
These are some things for which Samsung has not been clear. Here are some questions you need to answer:
-
Where, when and how you plan to Samsung to get rid of those millions of phones?
-
How to ensure Samsung of these precious materials are recovered?
-
what The phones will be recycled or sent to a location special?
Greenpeace is asking Samsung to be transparent and to publish his plan for dismantling and disposing of these phones. We also ask Samsung not to pull, or burn the appliances. It would be really innovative if Samsung keeps this great waste that would cause great environmental impact.
The world is watching how you will respond Samsung to this crisis. Now is the perfect opportunity for the brand to demonstrate its leadership and vision, breaking with the old to open the door and rethink how to design, sell and reuse of electronic.
I Know part of the movement for the innovation of technology.
you Ask Samsung not to pull 4.3 million phones!
