The update in the series comes at a time in which the company tries to overcome the fiasco of the phone, Note 7, that will cost billions of dollars in the past year. Samsung apparently ended with the investigations into the causes of the fire of some of the devices, but has not made public his discoveries.

Their next big launch is not expected until February, but the company will introduce some of their new technologies in the technology fair CES 2017, which starts on Wednesday.
