Verizon itself will distribute the update from Samsung that will disable the … – Gizmodo in Spanish

Samsung has done everything possible for users of a Galaxy Note 7 to return the terminal to be a risk: it has blocked the connection, has offered money and even is letting them rendered useless by an update. The operator Verizon refused to publish this patch, but the opinion has changed.

One of the operators of mobile telephony largest in the united States did not want to block the use of the terminal to those people who refuse to give it up, and according to them the reason had to do with security. Basically not wanting to leave solitary confinement to these users, the more irresponsible they are, in the midst of the holiday season and vacation. It is a danger to do so, according to the company.

And the reason they don’t lack, but is also another risk to facilitate (so indirectly) that the Note 7 will continue to circulate in the streets of the country, even when it is a crime to upload them to a plane.

But Verizon has understood the gravity of the matter and announced that yes they would release the patch, but with a condition: they will do it after finishing the season of festivals and holidays of the end of the year. In an official press release announced:

"Samsung will release a update for the Galaxy Note 7 the next December 19, which will prevent the load of your battery and leave it unused. Verizon will not release this patch until the 5 of January of 2017, because we want to make sure that anyone can contact to their relatives or to the authorities in case of an emergency during these holidays and holiday season.

yes, we ask the users of this terminal, stop using it and switch of mobile".

What is not clear is whether they will be able to use it in case of an emergency when the terminal to catch fire.

any way, Verizon is not alone. The operators AT&T and Sprint have also released the update during the first days of January 2017. Although the need to have a mobile for emergencies on these dates is a reality, the Note 7 has been declared as a risk by the authorities of many countries. The solution should not be to wait for releasing this update, but rather push Samsung even further to facilitate change in any manner and to the same user, to comply with the order and not be so irresponsible with your safety and the safety of those around him.
