The company LATAM today announced that, due to the recent incidents with the smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 7, involved in numerous cases of spontaneous fires, has decided to ban passengers address with the device inside of their aircraft.
In a statement issued today , the company said that "based on the recommendation of the Federal Aviation Administration of Usa (FAA) and other international authorities of aviation, until further notice, LATAM prohibited in all their flights, the transportation of phones Samsung Galaxy Note7, both in checked baggage, as in the hand baggage and/or with the passenger".
"The company will continue to consult with the relevant authorities regarding this issue, and will deliver up to date information through the established channels", he added.
let’s Remember that this Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration of the united States was determined to officially ban the device on all flights in the U.S., to, from or within the country.
Also, it should be noted that in Chile the smartphone was not marketed officially, so that the measure seems to be applicable to foreign citizens.
