The symmetry was one of the most important aspects in the design of the Note 7. Samsung boasted of curves with two panes of glass that are bent at the ends of the smartphone to be found in the aluminum frame. This symmetry could be the cause of the final withdrawal of the telephone.
the design of The Note 7 was a marvel of modern engineering, or so we think the first time we saw it. The phone departed from a body of aluminium of the 7000 series -1,3 times more resistant than the metal of the Galaxy S7—, and added two panels of glass made with the same type of glass. For bending the glass, Samsung has used a casting process known as "thermoforming in 3D" that allows it to wedge it with precision in the curvature of the body of the Note 7, leaving space for the S Pen stylus.
Thanks to its bold curves, the Note 7 was converted in the smartphone 5.7 inch-the thinnest in the market. But that boldness could also be the detonator of the problems that sentenced their fate. We know from the leaked documents for the first withdrawal of Note 7, which batteries supplied by Samsung SDI were the millimetre larger than that allowed its compartment. This made the phone undue pressure on them and, in the worst case, the anode and the cathode are played, cortocircuitaran and cause a runaway thermal (what we informally call "an explosion").
But the problem kept showing up with the batteries produced by ATL, supposedly safe, which led to a second withdrawal of the Note 7 and put a final nail in his coffin. What caused this undue pressure in the cells? As pointed out by Phone Arena, there is a theory that blames the curved edges of the phone. The plates that were situated towards the edge of the battery were too tight by the lack of space when it is used to seal the phone (which was water-resistant), which could exert extreme pressure on the site unless indicated.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had a massive battery of 3,500 mAh, compared to the 3,000 mAh of the previous model or the 2.900 mAh of the iPhone 7 Plus. Sources close to the company claim that the phone was released with a rush to overtake the Apple’s new iPhone. [Phone Arena]
